Dentures work as replacements for missing teeth. Aside from the obvious aesthetic advantage, they also keep your facial muscles in shape – whenever you lose teeth, the muscles tend to sag, ultimately making you look older. Up until recently, dentures never felt quite right for patients. They didn’t even look like natural teeth. This is not so today. Types of Dentures

There are three types of dentures:

• Conventional – Fully removable, these are placed in your mouth after your remaining teeth are removed and the tissues have healed. This process may take several months.
• Immediate – Inserted on the same day the remaining teeth were removed, this type saves you from lacking teeth during the tissue healing period.
• Overdenture – Performing a similar function to implants, an overdenture can fit over a small number of remaining teeth, after they have been prepared by our dentists. This way, you can save some of your natural teeth.
